bljones has a spectacular aura about bljones has a spectacular aura about
the rum fueled musings thread

It's raining.
My boats are on the hard.
I can't paint.
I can't varnish.
Parts are backordered, so I can't wrench.
There is only one alternative.
Ladies and gentlemen, the captain has turned the drinking light on!
This is the place to toss out the navel gazers, the thoughts that make you scratch your head, a place to ponder the imponderables, or just basically sloop the Schlitz. (Say that out loud in your best Foster Brooks voice and tell me it doesn't make you giggle like a sixth grader.)

Save the political, religious, conspiracy theory debates for the appropriate locations. This thread is for SERIOUS discussions.

What good is Aquaman?
Can anyone think of a more useless superhero? He swims. and talks to dolphins. Don't get me wrong, i like fish, and swimming perpetually smiling swimming mammals, but come on! As a save-your-adze sidekick, a chirping swimming mammal with limited operational depth, finite air capacity, and no opposable thumbs is not my first friggin' choice!

I love "Entourage", but come on, is this the best role that Ari could have come up with for Vince?

I've got one for you: A solution to the Nicole Simpson murder! Who was at the scene, had motive, but was never questioned? The dog. He even had blood on him. Why didn't the cops question him? Because he's a white dog. Why did he do it? They treated him like a dog, even calling that idiot houseboy by the same name (Cato).
There's more. Remember the Son of Sam? The .44 caliber killer? He was given instructions by the neighbors dog (Sam). Did they apprehend the dog? No, he's still at large. I think there's a dog conspiracy, even a dog cult. I'm going to start arresting them: making a "dog collar".
And I'm sober.

My question du jour: we've just come back into our slip after 8-1/2 months. Both cars started on the first try. But ... what's that rhythmic knocking sound?

Oh yeah, it's the neighbor's halyards. Ah the joys of marina life. Why don't people pay attention to their boats?
