I would like to find

The inventor of 5200, put a big ol glob of this sh*t on the crown of their head and then go trolling around Guadalupe Island.

Then when I return, I think I will 5200 the dock lines and cleats of all the powerboats I can find.

Ya'll can thank me later

5200

I have a love/hate relationship with it. It's amazing the way it can bond stuff but it's also bizarre the way it can seemingly transport itself through solid objects and suddenly appear in places far from where the tube was, sometimes even in other rooms...amazing.

would be hard to find the person. I think 3M makes all their scientists sign the right's over to the company. It is amazing how using it up on the bow area it's all over the cockpit LOL

I'm rebuilding a hard bimini on a 48' powerboat, the PO used 5200 everywhere & on everything.

I'd go track him down, but, I understand ( though retired ) he has some very unique skills courtesy of the government; So I'm better off finding the inventor

5200

It's amazing how it's so misused. It's suppose to be more of an adhesive then a sealer. It's just that it's so hard to remove if one doesn't have the know how.
I would never use it on a thruhull fitting.

We don't allow that crap anywhere near our boat. If we need an adhesive, we use 4200 or Sikaflex.

Both are good, but I think I like 4200 a little better.

I said in a thread somewhere that one should have to have a licence to buy the stuff....good for permanent applications like some construction projects but that's about it....I don't allow others to use it on my boat....I may someday here and there but I'll be very choosy about where.

The purchase price of a boat is just the admittance fee to the dance...you still have to spend money on the girl...so court one with something going for her with pleasing and desirable character traits others desire as well... or you could find yourself in a disillusioned relationship contemplating an expensive divorce.

The 4200 is great for fast cure jobs. The Sikaflex takes a lot longer for total submersion jobs, but is great for jobs that require you to have the tube open longer. We just retiled our shower using Sikaflex as the adhesive.
