I think the Panel members are pro bono, the government will only pay for the out of pocket expense.

Virtually everything we eat right now is genetically modified somehow. Cattle are breed (modified) to produce lots of meat faster. In recent years they have been modified to produce leaner meat. Potatoes in their original form are purple.

I do prefer wild salmon over farmed salmon and I have concerns about the effect salmon farming on the wild stocks. I see a lot of fish farms in the PNW.

I have no problem of consuming genetic engineering salmon. Likewise I have no problem eating genetic engineering lobster by nature. I have more problems eating farm raised salmon, in fact we don't eat it any more.

I see that genetic engineering food is way of the future for the survival of the species.
