A few comments from that article:
This poll looks suspect. Where is the poll results for the 3 territorial constituencies? When and how was the poll done? And why are the results of this poll so much different than all the other polls that showed a majority or an even split for getting rid of the long gun registry.

I agree with several posters that the survey is fraudulent as poll after poll showed that people, except from socialist Quebec, wanted the registry gone. I blame the Conservative's poor communication for this debacle and I say this as a CPC member. Most Canadians have no understanding of what goes into purchasing a long gun, let alone a handgun. The PAC and so many other steps have to followed by the LEGAL gun owner. Registered owners outside the registry can legally lend and borrow guns from each other so the Long Gun Registry is absolutely useless as its data is garbage.
If these many steps were properly explained to Canadians they would see the total waste of billions of dollars this LGR burns up for nothing. The police officers don't want it as they are aware how phony it is.
Harper should have quarterly television chats explaining the CPC platforms like our economic status and plans and the LGR should be part of it. The Liberals and the other lefty party are only after votes not eliminating waste of citizen's tax dollars.

Seeing as how the CACP and the Coalition for Gun Control lied and told every Canadian that "The Registry is short-hand for Licensing and Registration together", and misrepresented the 66.4 million per year cost as less than 4 million dollars during the C-391 debate, this poll is tainted from the get-go.

Keep licensing. Registration has done nothing but infringe on Charter Rights and Freedoms. It pains me to see Canadian consent being manufactured by disinformation campaigns for UN disarmament schemas.
