Westburo Baptist Church Attempt to Dishonour Pfc. Shane Reifert

Pfc. Shane Reifert, 23, of Cottrellville Township, Michigan, died Nov. 6 after his unit was attacked by insurgents in Afghanistan. On Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, services for this American hero will be conducted in Marine City, Michigan. The Westburo Baptist Church plans to attempt to disrupt Shane's services with their hateful messages.

The Michigan Patriot Guard Riders have been asked by the family to provide escort services and a flag line. Volunteers are always welcome:

Hoolly Doolly ....now that is a serious piece of work. Who on earth are these ratbags ?

What I don't quite understand is what are they protesting about ? Was Reifert gay or a jew or both ? Beats me I cannot work it out.

Obviously they are insane but beyond that I am not so sure. Do you know that they make money by charging the US government for their legal fees but that they defend themselves through their own lawfirm ? Sneaky little fluckers.

They believe the U.S. has sinned by allowing/promoting homosexuality, etc., and that, therefor, our soldiers are fighting and dying in the name of sin, and are being killed because of that.

They're just a tiny step from Jim Jones and David Koresh.

You did the right thing to post for volunteers. I'm ten hours away, or I'd go.

They're also a pretty serious money-making racket. Everyone in the family (The church is actually just one family) is a lawyer. They go out there, spouting their reprehensible message, hoping someone will lose it and take a swing. Then they sue their pants off to finance the next protest. It's horrific.

Ok....so protesting at e.g. Reifert's funeral is not personal ? They try and despoil this blokes funeral as an all points protest against the US government ? Whoa nellie.....

WanderingStar.......seems to me they would be doing the world a favour if the did drink the koolaid.....

ShortBu5......it appears they simply sue anything that moves and then enter into a never ending cycle of appeals until they find a sympathetic judge.
