Has anyone read "Maiden Voyage"?

I admit I've not read it, but am thinking of getting it for my almost 11 year old for Christmas. I'm just looking for a heads up on content, as I can't find a definitive answer. Salty language is ok, I am just wondering how much if any sexual content there is?

I know I could read it before her, but then she would nick it as she nicks all my books and read it before I have a chance to give it to her as a gift.

Absolutely awesome book and such an inspiration .
I have the pleasure of knowing the lady personally as I sold a yacht to her some years ago. She became a good friend and has stayed with our family whilst her boat was in the yard. What a wonderful and wise woman. All kids could do well to use her as a role model.
PS She has written another book " I ve been around"... also excellent... and No!! no sexual content.

So Maiden Voyage is devoid of any "steamy scenes"? I'm good with discussions of romantic involvements so long as they are age appropriate.

It is a great book for all ages...rated PG so no need to worry...Disney could even make the movie...

I loved this book! She does fall in love over the course of her circumnav but the discussion is as mikel1 said, totally clean ... and kinda sweet. We've met her too - cool lady!
