Return of Canvasback and Bufflehead ducks

There are 100+ Canvasback ducks and 300+ Bufflehead ducks on Back Creek in Annapolis this week. It is nice to see them as they haven't been around in a long time. Guess the is a good sign that the grasses and critters are beginning to return to the creek! The ducks have been feeding all week.
As an extra, the dogs love to bark at ducks.

We have a small group of Buffleheads return to our marina and out in front of our place each winter. They're a lot of fun to watch.

canvasbacks were fun to watch when i lived on the eastern shore of the chesapeake, though they were scarce. them things can get some yonder, too. there'd be a mess of bummed out duck hunters if they were all that danged quick.......

I've seen some groups of Buffleheads wintering in LI Sound and I hear there are some in the Hudson estuary as well.
