I was at the New York Boat Show in 1961. I have only a few memories of the show; there were only a few sailboats at the show and they were pretty unimpressive (Remember the A.R. True Rocket?), that it was brutrally cold waiting in line to get in but a vender came by with hot chestnuts which my dad bought and we put in our pockets to keep our hands warm, and of course the most classic memory was a pan-handler coming along in a ratty, beat to death, old blue blazer with the great line, 'I am a visiting yachtsman just in town for the show. I left my wallet back at my hotel and was wondering whether you could spare a few bucks so I can catch a cab back to my hotel...."
My recollection of power boats is not what it used to be but the shape of that side panel was popular on production boats of that era. If I had to guess I would say the boat in the picture might be a Chris Craft sea Hawk, but I might also guess that it might be a Trojan.
