I saw on the news that it was sunny and 34 here in Minneapolis Friday, while our "friends" in Dallas had 2+ inches of snow and it was 29.....

Of course it won't last long as we will be in the single digits again next week.....

Heh-heh. Yeah, Jack, you enjoy your one day of 10, while we have 4-5 days of 5-6, then we'll be back in the 15s and 20s for the rest of the winter....SAILING....while you're still chipping ice off your firewood.

The kids got to play in the 1.5" of snow we got yesterday. They were amazed.

What's really funny though is that said snow COMPLETELY shut Austin down. No school, no university, no government offices open, nothing. 1.5"!!!!!

I went into work and I-35 was a ghost town. Ridicurous.

I'll trade you some of that cold Smack. It is absolutely stinking hot in Sydney right now. Been up round 100 degrees pretty much all week.

Ouch! We'll feel that pain in a few months. What are the temps like in Sydney in the winter?

I'll take some of that cold and snow! Saw a pic of a friend in Chi town, he has more snow at his house, than we do at the ski area I am teaching at! pitifull if you ask me! dang near fell into a creek that is normally covered with 5-10' of snow, as all of 2' near the edges.

Weird weather pattern needless to say right now.

Sydney winters are in reality very mild. Sometimes temp drops to below 10°C at night but thats the worst of it. We sail year round. OK so we need to rug up a bit in winter but other than during the occasional storm, no need to stay indoors. We use an oil lamp for heat during winter. Again, there is the occasional evening when we'd like a bit more heat but nothing really to complain about.

It's about 9:00pm here in Houston and it's all the way down to 61 degrees, with a south wind off of the Gulf.

I went to grad school in Houston in 1980-81. When I came home to Calgary for Christmas, it was warmer here than Houston.

OK right now -13 C with a heavy snowfall warning.

You should come back to Houston, it's not -13 here and very unlikely that it will snow - ever! On another note, where did you go to grad school?
