It's amazing what testosterone poisoning will make some blokes do.

This racing is is incredible. I saw this 8-10 yrs. or so ago on TNT TV and it was in Fla. on that show if I remember right. They explained it all as to how it's raced. Watch the co-pilots hands very close, he directs all the turns since the driver can't steer and look at the turns ahead of them.

I stumbled on those a few months ago. It is worth searching on Youtube under sprint boat races. Some of the other videos give a little better perspective of the whole course.

More recently I ran into someone who had actually been to a sprint boat race. The water in the troughs is only supposed to be like 2 feet deep. If the course is laid out correctly, the water is supposed to be nearly level with the shore with no bank. That way if the boat comes out of the trough, it doesn't roll, but rather skips along the ground. It looks like these troughs had too high of a bank, which caused the boats to roll. It is supposed to be fairly safe, even though it looks nuts. The troughs are very shallow and are just cut in an open field near a lake or river. The courses are temporary just for the show.

Great Youtube entertainment. Kind of reminds me of the time I pulled a water skier on a 3 acre lake. Thanks for the reminder for us to get out of the political forum and get some air

Sailing a large boat on a small lake is very tacky.
