Look up the pictures from the Hubble Deep Field series - they will stun you into speechless incomprehension when you realize they are all Galaxies, not Stars and what a TINY part of the sky they cover.

Actually, our entire Galaxy is merely like a single grain of sand in all the beaches on Earth - the Sahara doesn't even come close.
