I concur 100%. The people I know who own beachfront property would not risk throwing their life away by committing a major felony. Scream at the authorities, yell at the mayor, storm the city council....YES. Blow up a boat? No. As for kids, maybe they'd tag it with spray paint, maybe steal something off it. Blow up a boat? I don't think so. That's scary stuff if you think about it. Most of all, a blown up boat is more of an eyesore than a boat lying on it's side, so I don't get the "irate neighbors" theory. Who they need to look for is a truly crazy person in the area with nothing to lose.....Oops.

RIP Michael. I'm truly sorry for the misery you went through in your last days. Godspeed brother. And fair winds.

Sympathies to his family and loved ones. Unfortunately, not terribly surprising.

Smacky,

I agree. Truly sad. The man had his struggles and challenges coming down the home stretch. Hope he is resting now.

Very sad indeed. More than likely his demons chased him into the water.
Rest in peace Michael.

Re: I'd like to organize an effort to help Michael Calabrese

Yeah, he really dipped out didn't he ? It would be nice to think that everyone has the ability to pull up their socks and carry on but it simply isn't so. Surely not that difficult for us to have some sympathy for a fellow who simply didn't have it in him.

There but for the grace of god and all that.
