Red face A Diva died

Cesária Evora was a great Lady and a magnificent singer. She brought the music of his homeland to the world heritage.

She was from Cabo Verde (ex Portuguese Colony) a tiny archipelago in the Atlantic with a sweet music: Mornas, a kind of mix of the Portuguese Fado with African music.

She was not Portuguese, but was loved by all Portuguese. The Day after she died it was transmitted on the TV an important football match between to major Portuguese teams. They have homage her with a minute of Silence while her music was played in the field. The players where silent but the 40 000 spectators give her a standing ovation, a truly huge one . I saw it and it was very impressive. A big tribute to her life and her music and an expression of how much we all love her.

Regards

Paulo
