I believe this family may have a problem communicating.
We have a girl 15 yo girl who posts a rant to a social media site and a father who responds with a youtube video.
These people need to spend some time at sea.
Just sad.

Actually, if you read some of his responses, it is clear that:
A) said daughter understands, and they have a great relationship
B)police/social agencies all have been contacted, police said "Way to go" (paraphrasing),
and as far as I know social agency said all OK. BTW, father was the one who instigated contact with authorities.
I'm not sure if I would have done that, however, is there a difference in dropping it from 3 stories, running over it with a truck, swatting it with a baseball bat, or using a shotgun?
Point is, daughter was told this would happen, daughter acted way out of line, father followed through. Mother and step-mother support father. Daughter and father had long discussion afterwards, daughter knows she needs to earn money to get new laptop.

I guess just taking the laptop away from the brat would have been too intelligent. He might have even donated it to a charity or a school, but blowin' it up REEL gud on YouTube was just SO much classier.
Redneck parenting.

Any bets she remembers Dad means what he says? Any bets she knows consequences to misbehavior in the future?
I say she will remember and think about actions.
Best part?
If she wants a new laptop, she needs to earn the money. Just like my son had to when he wanted a rifle or a car.
Many years after he got out of school, he told me how mad he was at me at the time for not buying him a car like all the other parents. He also said, when he got his, how good he felt that it was HIS money that bought it, and he respected it a lot more then his peers respected the given ones.
Said son, at 30, owns two houses now, two new paid for 1 year old vehicles, his wife stays at home with baby, has no debts outside of mortgage, and uses his paid for RV often.
All on a tradesman's wages.
His peers from school? Some still with mommy and daddy, some not sure what they want to do, some working but broke. But they were driving BMW's at school. They were the cool dudes, you know.
He was raised right, as was his sister, as is the daughter of this guy.

Right! She's been taught that anytime you REALLY, REALLY need to make a point, blowing holes in something with a .45 is the best way to go about it.
Now THAT'S what I call bein' brung up proper.

Please read her posts. This child has about the worst potty mouth I've ever seen. And I was in the military for 33 years!

There's no doubt the girl is a self absorbed, clueless brat, as are most girls at that age. That doesn't have any bearing on her fathers stupidity, with the possible exception of that's where she learned or inherited her own stupidity.
Think about this: how'd you like to see her get her hands on daddy's .45?
Just by the way, does anyone know where they live? My money's on Virginia or the Carolinas.

Aw come on Sloopy...stupidity doesn't respect geographical boundries. For proof, all you need to do is watch the tv show "Cops". It is taped in cities from north to south and coast to coast, and breathtaking stupidity is rampant in even the most supposedly "sophisticated" northern cities. A southern accent is no more an indication of ignorance than is a Boston accent or New York accent or Maine accent. Likewise, the fact that someone lives in Virginia or the Carolinas, as opposed to Pennsylvania or Maryland, is no indicator of intelligence. I've never seen Maryland State officials stopping stupid people at the state line, preventing them from entering the state. I'm disappointed in you. Where's your nuanced thinking?
