Google Analytics! I needed to download adblock first. and dowloaded the filters. Fanboy Adblock Homepage
So sick of ads following me where ever I go on the net. This is on FireFox as my server not IE
(here's hoping)

I've been running adblock for ages, it's great. Ironically, opening this thread, my browser sat there "waiting for the server at sailnet.com".

It is one of the slowest forums I visit. As a result, I do not come here as often as others, even though there are some pretty knowledgeable people here and some good postings.

Not sure why they can't fix it; lots of forums have ads running with out the slow problem.

I don't find it particularly bad. Main thing is to make sure you switch the chat off, that makes it slooooooooow.

A few weeks ago I went to op out on the google site.. they make it so you have to block each one. and it still didn't block most of them.

Just for kicks, I checked out the average load speed of several forums on Alexa. Here's what I found:

Sailnet: "Slow (1.822 Seconds), 64% of sites are faster."
Cruisersforum: "Very Slow (2.712 Seconds), 82% of sites are faster."
Sailinganarchy: "Slow (1.846 Seconds), 65% of sites are faster."
YBW: "Average (1.409 Seconds), 50% of sites are slower."

So, it's not too bad I guess. Faster than CF and SA.

Yep, there are numerous people that have been preaching ad-block and FFox. But the power of IE is strong with the dim wits...

Interesting how we espouse the slowest form of transportation on the water yet most of us get impatient waiting an extra couple of seconds for a page to load.

The "follow you where every go" ads what was P----g me off. The speed is faster now which is a good thing.
