hello everyone, my name is Massimo I live in Italy in Genoa and have recently become the owner of a sailboat built in Argentina.
Here in Italy I can not find any indication of the shipyard that built it and no news on the skills of navigation of my boat The name is "Atorrante" the class is Seagull was built in 1986 in Buenos Aires "Astilleros Tecnimar" construction of a project engineer Horacio Tettamanti The overall length is 6.6 meters and the beam is 2.30 meters Is there anyone of the patrons of the community who knows something more? Thanks to all those who can help me here are some photos http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...e/P1010678.jpg http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...e/P1010674.jpg http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...e/P1010713.jpg |
Looks like a Tanton IOR era 1/4 tonner but she would have been labeled as such.

I think Faster's boat was built down that way. He calls it a Fast/Nickleson. Might PM him, see if your boat is a sistership?

Our boat was built in Brazil... next door;)
The company was Fast Yachts, since defunct. They bought the moulds from Nicholson in Great Britain around 1982/3. We appear to have hull#41 (of 130 or so) Original designer was Ron Holland. Fast Yachts appear to have built a few different models... This looks like a local Argentinian project, with a local designer but is certainly of that IOR era with the pinched ends. Should be quick under certain conditions! |
