Westsail sub-forum under boatbuilders row?

I noticed that there are quite a few posts about Westsails that come up and wondered if there would be any interest in a Westsail sub-forum.....?

This way the fallacies and facts can be aired and as I believe that there are several Westsail owners that frequent these forums, there would be a home for all things Westsail here.

Anyway, just a thought

westsail sub forum

Yes I would love to see a sub forum about westsail's. I think this is a great Idea. I have had three smaller sail boats and my next boat will be a westsail 32. I know alot of people love all the newer sail boats with all the technology, composite material, and space age science. However for me, if this was my thing, I would skip the whole works and buy a go-fast boat with triples and be done with it.

My type of sailing is entrenched some where between the "Spray" and "Kon Tiki". It is the old fashioned "Lure of the Sea" that attracts me to the Westsail. Doesnt matter if there are 100 faster sloops, cats, composites,
etc. The Westsail has carved out a niche in modern sailing that will stand the test of time as it calls us back to remember an earler time of a well built boat, navagating by the stars with a dream to cross the oceans.

Thanks

westsail sub forum yes

I actually cannot believe there is not one yet. What is necessary to get this going? I assume it will take some moderator super powers.

I am suprised there isn't a westsail sub -forum as well ! I always thought they were/are beautiful craft. wouldn't mind owning a 32' or bigger myself.
Of course I wouln't mind seeing a Bayliner Buccaneer sub forum either. While not in the Westsail league by any stretch, I hve one,see many others ad enjoy my 325 center cockpit version, and have sailed her extensively.

I'm also surprised there isnt one. There were about 830 of the 32' model built alone. The 28,42,39 and 43 are some of the other models.
After looking at the existing sub-forums (Alajuela is one, not many of these were built) I have to think that there is some sort of agenda when it comes to these boats.

Re: Westsail sub-forum under boatbuilders row?

There must be several members of SN with Westsails, seems like there should be enough interest for a sub forum.
