Re: Back on the water!

I have been wondering what sailing was like on the Delaware Bay back in there. Hopefully you'll get a few good weekends and be able to report back! My in-laws have a home in Avalon, and it would be nice to keep our boat down in that area. But, it would only be worth it if we could actually get out on the bay regularly and actually have fun sailing (with 2 younger kids).

Anyway...congrats again!

Re: Back on the water!

I've actually done some sailing with a Hobie Getaway for the last couple of seasons off of East Point Lighthouse. On nice days it's nice sailing, but the bay overall is shallow. Depending on the wind direction and which way the tide is going, it can get pretty choppy. Now on the Pearson my biggest concern is the depth. I haven't been more than a couple miles out yet but depth averages between 8 and 12 feet. I draw 5 ft, so you have to be aware. There are better places to go, but with the amount of work I still need to do on the boat, I chose to stay close to home. I just read something on line comparing the Cheasepeak and Delaware Bays as sister bays. The Delaware being the wicked step sister. Don't know if thhelps, but that's my opinion on sailing the Delaware bay.

Wow, sorry I missed this.

Congratulations, that is a fine looking P30.
If you ever make it down to the Chesapeake Bay, send me a note.

Thanks,I will. Still working out a few bugs, replacing the water pump tomorrow. Should have replaced it to begin with. We live, we learn.
