Pearson 30 Racers

If anyone that races a P30 on a regular basis has any idea on the best way to rig an adjustable backstay i would love to hear about it. I bought hull # 346 about 18 months ago and i need to replace the shrouds. The backstay has one of those adjustable wheels that goes from 1 to 8 on a scale and is i would say just slightly dated. I plan on updating the backstay adjuster.

I'm sure that there must be someone that has been racing these boats for a while(Chesapeake??) and might have good info on this.

Thanks a lot,

Andy

I added a hydraulic backstay adjuster some years ago and it works very well. It's very easy to adjust on the fly and it has a gauge that makes settings easy to repeat. Other than being a little pricey, I think it's the way to go.
