P-30 Bilge pump replacement ?

I have a 79 P-30 #1143 with a whale /gusher bilge pump on the starboard rear side of the cockpit. Has anyone ever installed an electric/automatic bilge pump either in addition to or instead of the manual pump ? I sometimes forget (more and more) to pump out the bilge and then when under sail in moderate to heavy conditions end up with sloshing water under the port bunk making a mess out of all my spare parts and anything else I've stowed down there.
There's not much room to work with where the main cabin manual uptake is. and then there's the separate uptake in the engine compartment ???

My '76 P30 has an electric pump in addition to the manual one. A simple installation, it sits in the bilge just forward of the aft inspection hatch. It's a Rule 500 with built in float switch. The discharge hose runs through the engine compartment and out the transom.

Does the electric pump use the same discharge as the electric one ?

The electric and manual bilge pumps are completely separate systems; two pumps, two hoses, two holes in the transom.

I have the same setup on my '74 P30 as Loki. However, I added a diaphragm pump as well to get even more water out of the bilge. All three bilge pumps have their own through hulls.

Of course now that I changed the flax in my packing nut I have little need for any of the bilge pumps unless something catastrophic happens.
