If you say so, I'm not really sure of the comparison though. I prefer to think of it as getting 70% extra boat for free.
Anyway, this is all rather OT with regards to getting from Van to Sidney

I think the plan now is to ferry over on Saturday and then stay on the boat ready for a dawn departure. You out at thunderbird there? If I have time I'll walk down and say hi Saturday evening.
