Thumbs up Some videos from Oh Joy's only race, the Northern Century

This was the 100 nm double handed race Twan and I did. We got a DNF and had to be towed in.

Even though we didn't finish and I spent 7 hrs sailing backwards later that night, I'm doing it again next year.

Bummer on the tow! I like the sunset videoeo the best, I guess it's the angle. Better luck next year!

Yeah, I like that shot too. Here's the next day, after the drifting, we got to the Georgia Strait for some air.

Unfortunately, it didn't last and died about the time the tide turned again. At 5 PM we retired and then discovered the oil issue. Remedy from Vessel Assist out of Friday Harbor to the rescue. It was a cold, wet ride home as the wind built to 20+ and was against the tide.

I'll be out there again next year for sure.

She dumped her oil into the bilge from a cracked filter. This led to the engine seizing up on the next sail and another tow, which is why she's on the hard a bit early for refit.
