Awesome day out sailing...

Nothing quite goes with the:

Step onboard - get a safety lecture.

Step on onboard and see - what the heck is all this.

After seeing what the heck is this - dumfounded, being told here is what you do...

Asked to do it... and wondering still what the heck is all this stuff..

To the end of the day mastering the "I still don't know what it is - but know what I am doing" and doing it well...

We even discovered I had a "new secret weapon" onboard and didn't know it - a screecher... races will never be the same now in light wind - I dare you to fill a sail...

Winds up to 14, averaging around 5-7 .... good day for training and being out on the water...

Crew was fabulous and was quite pleased with the actions and "teamwork" in playing around with me letting them just do as they saw fit...

Oh Yeah - I Have BFS video as soon as I figure out how to use my Mac....

Thanks!

Thanks again Jody,

The sail was marvelous. I learned a lot and now realize how much more I have to learn. See you soon,

Scott

David,

No wonder Kyrie was looking lonely today! Mr Wilson was doing something to Gracie. Engine idleing, looking like he put a tarp over the cockpit etc for the winter.

Took off the original Goiot tracks today, got new Schaefer tracks installed, hopefully tomorrow put the last of the bolts in, ie need some longer one in a few spots, new cars and adjustible blocks, put interior back together and vacuum up, along with hopefully finding my car keys etc. Every key I need to live with is GONE! Hopefully not overboard.

Otherwise, good day. Daughter and my Dad came over to help, had dinner with sheryl at the beach cafe..........good day.

Mr. Wilson finally got the note on how to practice safe sex a few years to late it seems!

You are gonna like the adjustable setup... but be aware - if loaded and adjusting more purchase is better and if your Schaefer setup is like my Harken you can add blocks on top to manage it...I also reversed the setup over what Harken recommends as it is easier with my setup to move the car back .. at nay rate - let us know how it works especially for the Vashon Race ...

I wrote up a blog entry on todays experience here to expound on the AFOC greatness comment: (link)

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Hey guys,

Now that Jody is out of the water for awhile, I was wondering if anyone needed a crew member once in awhile? I have been voraciously reading every book I can find, and even watching some hilarious 70's DVD's from the library, all on sailing. Only been out twice with Jody, not nearly enough time on the water to put all that nonsense to good use. My schedule is pretty flexible most evenings and weekends.

Thanks,

Scott
