Each spring, Gray Whales come into Puget Sound to feed on their way up to Alaska. Apparently they go into shallow muddy areas and gulp up mud and then sift out the ghost shrimp and whatever else is in there. Anyway, one of the spots that I've seen them feeding several years in a row is on the north side of Onamac Pt., which is on Camano Island about half way up on the west shore. We went down this weekend to see if we could spot some whales and sure enough, there was one there feeding again. We watched it for about a half hour before heading up to Hope Island for the rest of the weekend. This is a short clip taken with a cheap digital camera.
