Preparing to go full time cruising - Shameless plug

I am on a mission now to be full-time cruising by end of August. "HG" is repaired, a new interior by me is going in place...and I am selling off my C-27 and associated parts on ebay: eBay My World - artbyj0dy

Includes the c-27, outboard, Kevlar and Norland Asym etc...more items will be added as my deadline of Aug 15th approaches..

If out of place etc then the mods can delete at will...

With the economy the way it is and the dismal success of trying to do the original selling it all online my site.. Watch the seattle cl ads, ebay (link above) etc - you may or may not get deals you bargained for - if you know me and the stuff I own, make a motion. Otherwise, come hell or high water (preferred) - myself and my only remaining dog "lucky" will start down south and move up north and start a video / webcast series on the points of interest that we all should consider. Kinda tired of the stuff I own and full bore onto getting rid of the material things and slimming down (not that I am over weight - far from it)..

That is my update - HG will be seeing another two weeks with no activity (as this weekend I finally get a paycheck) of being in the water but being non Viagra hard. The damage from the grounding was fixed - and was especially better than the original. But I had hassles getting the boat even with guaranteed funds from BoatUS.

None the less - time is that I finally just cast away all the BS that we all suffer - and I can do well now as my responsibilities are limited. Come Sept - life changes. Whatever it is - my dog and I will cruise, and I will make a literary effort to document (wahoo!) - but I'll have my Airstream as a backup...

About it from here... My ebay listings have the Kevlar main, Norland Asym, and Mercury 9.9 PowerSail outboard for sail (plus my C-27)...(see above linnk)...

ON to new adventures and thanks for letting me part of yours...

Good luck with everything Jody. I hope you will check in around here and be a part of the community as you can. You will be missed - but what better way to be missed than the way you are doing it?

I do not have a problem with what you are doing at all. In fact, I suggest putting some of that in the classified sections and see if you can get any bites.

Best of luck to you. Keep in touch.

The classifieds on Sailnet lack punch ( didn't even try on SA as why bother).. Hence why I posted this (and feared it would be deleted).. Thanks for your wishes, its about time for myself to go that other extreme - even if I have more BBQ equipment than others ( stern heavy - and no pics to prove it. Well I do but but....).. But the reality is I what I own is crap ( 6 yrs or newer, ref moving scam and Dateline), but is newer..

It all is what it is.. ref the ebay auction - my rep is one that I never sell a bill of goods without full disclosure, as I am not one to deceive even if I can profit from such.... Just not my nature..You bid or offline offerer, its treated all the same.

Thanks again...

Jody, if only it was last year, or next year, I could have been in the market for a couple of your C-27 items, but now my budget has been bogged down with repairs :P I have not noticed ads going out to the IC27A mailing list, which seems to be pretty good at attracting C-27 owners.

In any case, good luck with your auctions! I've been following your posts when I can and I hope to hear about your adventures, while I dream about maybe someday going down a similar road. Fair winds and following seas!

Thanks - and yeah, the economy sucks all the way around. I know of very few people that haven't been effected. Thanks again Brian for not pulling the post - I sold the Norland Asym because of that post here on Sailnet (way more effective than CL and Ebay actually as it a targetted audience).

I know I have been off Sailnet for awhile - once full-timing onboard, I am going to take Faster's lead and start documenting the harbors and destinations up and down the Puget Sound and share the info. I have simply been keeping myself offline due to stress etc. More exciting stuff to come as I get "re-balanced" (if such a thing can occur!)

Jody, dude, great to see you back! And great to hear that HG is on the mend. That is awesome news!

If I can swing it - I might throw a bid your way on an item or two. I've not been putting any real money into our C27 trying to save for the coastal boat. But that main sure looks tempting.

Totally understand and appreciate the feedback. If I was you (cutting my nose off in spite of face and well my overall breathing ability - not all of us have the zombie quailities of the "J" ), I wouldn't bother knowing your intentions. Concentrate on that coastal cruiser (my advice). The bigger the boat the more that less works anyways. Appreciate the vibe though - hope your tearing up there and enjoying the summer...

Best wishes and where are your first ports of call? Where do you plan on cruising? Your stuff will sell let's have some fun and discuss where you plan on cruising. This is really great news.

In your fashion (and always enjoyed your posts), I am going to start south. Living in the area, there is quite abit south towards Olympia that deserves as much attention as the San Juans. For instance last years jaunt to Gig Harbor. A fascinating time.

There are a myriad of areas that just side notes, and with generator at hand - to be able to document and maybe dispell for other sailors the myths of why you should go or not - well that would just be useful. Especially down south. Most of us PNW sailors venture to Ludlow, Townsend, Deception Pass and other areas on the way - but there are gems hidden all over. I hope in my adventures to uncover them whether it is a full out moorage or count your marks out anchoring.

Coupled with I'll have my bassett to attend to - may make it all interesting. For instance, Port Townsend for all the glory it gets - who wants to hitch a cab ride 6-8 miles to the nearest Safeway? Things like this I will focus on as well - will have the time to do so.

It'll probably be broken up as I'd like to Charlie out before the summer ends, so Bellingham area may be a first stop. I hyave this thing about honoring committments and I worked on his boat as well.

Its all up in the air kinda, I think start down south and move slowly up North, exploring the crevices as they may be...

Hey Jody..

I heard you were back in the water. That's great news!

The Admiral and I just got back from 3-1/2 days south.. Gig Harbor, Quartermaster Harbor and Blake Island.

I'll call you tomorrow.

David
