Anybody out Sailing today?
We have a clear air gale here today...so far we have seen 44 Kt here at the house with a pretty steady 25 to 30..Bright sunny clear day.

Anybody lucky enough to be out there today..I sure would like to hear about it.

I'm responding to this thread after sailing all day. Wind E at 15 knots with a 1-2 foot swell, water temp 29c and air temp about the same
The BVI are wonderful

Was out at Deception Pass today ( on land). The westerly gale against the ebb tide was impressive. There was a kayaker surfing on the waves underneath the bridge. Park Rangers launched to rescue him, but turned around, either because it was too rough to get to the kayaker, or the kayaker somehow communicated that he was okay.

Deception Pass... was there on a calm day, would love to see it on a day like today (any pics?).

Didn't make it out today (work) but did go yesterday and saw the leading edge of the system we're in now. Had about 20 knots from the south... then it started to rain. Would I trade it for today? I dunno, 44 is a bit much for me...

We had pretty impressive rollers in Peavine Pass today, strong winds against a three knot ebb current. Probably 6'-8' breaking waves, even the USCG Safe boats had to slow down to a crawl from their normal 30+ knots.

No sailing today, tomorrow, the following day, but lookout on Sat. If things go as hoped we will start our 8k mile trip. I did rebed the the chainplates to the gullstriker.. ......i2f

30 knot SE last night, swinging around to NW and blowing hard up here all day... Blustery conditions... noticed on the morning news towercam one of the boats washed ashore in English Bay last month hanging on for dear life out there again!
