Off-season trip desolation/discovery islands area
planning a late september or october trip out of Campbell River to discovery/desolation area, possibly Bute inlet or Jervis Inlet/Princess Louisa. we're usually out of victoria but have left the boat in CR this year.
i'm just treating it like a summer trip but colder, shorter days and with fewer options on land. any other comments/advice/experience on places to go/avoid in the "shoulder" season or expected fall weather patterns? |
Steve (Seeyalatermoonglow here on SN) would be the resident expert in that area. He sails year round up there.

Warmer clothing, obviously, prepare for more rain. Also perhaps you'll find that the inlet outflow winds typical of winter may strengthen later on, but that's not guaranteed either.... Given the odd summer we've had and it's late start, maybe you'll be swimming!!;):) |
