Lund Harbour Upgrade

Well after several years of planing, the Lund harbour upgrade is about to begin. The project involves moving the existing

breakwater to seaward 100 metres and the addition of a forth breakwater module to the north end, to better protect the

harbour from westerlies. In addition, B dock, (closest to the hotel) well be removed and replaced with a new float. this

well add a further 600 feet of tieup space. All new electrical 30 and 50 amp service well be installed on the new dock.

the schedule as it is at this time should commence with the placement of the new anchoring system around the 21 sept. and

should finish end of october. Vessel owners have been put on notice of schedule and advised to relocate if possible during

the construction period. This does not mean that the harbour is completely closed, there well be some space available on

the breakwater or rafting to other vessels on the remaining dock A. Hope this information is helpfull. Sorry for any

inconveniance. Looking forward to a better safer harbour. i'll update as work moves forward. Regards to all, Larry

The upgrade to Lund harbour is moving ahead and on time. with the arrival of the anchoring system. and crane. The Anchors have been set and the fourth breakwater modual is on site. Here are a a few photos of the progress. cheers, Larry.

Hello All, Here are a few pics of the on going harbour upgrade. After carefull positioning, the breakwater has been moved to it's new location. The ship Essington 2 is in the harbour doing the replacement of B dock and we are enjoying the new harbour area. The amber flashing light at the north end of the breakwater has been changed to Red flashing, and relocated to it's correct position on the newly added modual, Cheers, Larry

Yep, still tyeup on the breakwater. A little farther to Nancy's though. hehehe

Well hello from Lund. New harbour up grade complete. Hope to see you all next cruising season. If your walking the Lund loop drop in and say hello. We live on the corner where the fence carvings are.

We fished for many years in BC waters. Really enjoy your log barge site, brings back memories of the many places we fished up there. Looking forward to more updates.
