That stuff will probably end up in the Pacific Gyre as long as it floats, will it not?

Well, I guess after the Japanese fishing industry has swept the Pacific clean of life they can be employed to use their 30 mile long nets to scoop up that cr@p in the gyre.

Long time coming we harvest the grye for hydrocarbons. In the meantime watch for bobbers on the outer coast. That's a deadhead that develops a life of its own in a long swell. Can ruin your cruise.Another place to watch for deadheads is sand or mud shallows maybe50 or 60 ft. Tide brings them in, pushes them in and lets them swivel to meet you as you buck the tide inside the marker(Cattle Point,San Juan) In Desolation I usually tie a large rock by rope and a spike to deadheads I find and send them deep So If you didn't hit one, You're welcome.

Went down to the Edmonds marina for a walk with puppy last night, and probably a 1/4 of the guest dock area was literally filled with floating debris. port folks will be having fun over the day removing it before the weekend, as 18 YC folks are coming in with lighted boats for the month! 3-4 slips of 18 are unusable.
