Has anyone done any fly fishing in these rivers? I'm hoping to dinghy up a ways and fish, late July early August, any advice?

Not familiar with rivers but I think DFO has some restrictions on some of them:

Fish and Wildlife - Natural Resource Operations - Province of British Columbia

That time of year was always good for us for Cohos, in salt water, which was our favorite. Late August / early Sept was the best. It can vary by area.

Try this one, it has more detail.

Fish and Wildlife - Natural Resource Operations - Province of British Columbia

If you fish with a guide it is unlikely there will be any problems. Based on our 20+ years of fishing on our own, without a guide, we found the DFO officers became VERY "detail oriented" as soon as they found out we were not Canadian. Later, because of some physical limitations, we fished with a guide who was on a first name basis with DFO, no problems.

One of the lodges we used offered helicopter fresh water river trips. IIRC, everything was catch & release, a DFO rule, I think.
