Re: Can I anchor for a week?

Jim: Foot pumping a 7 or 8 foot inflatable goes a lot more quickly. I don't know how large northoceanbeach's dinghy is. I have two of them, a Zodiac Zoom (7.7') and an Achillies LT-3 (just under 9') and I can foot pump both of them in about 5 minutes. I did it nearly daily on my cruise of the San Juans last year (because I also don't like towing inflatables) and didn't find it to be a big deal.

This year I plan on cruising with a rigid dinghy, storing it on the foredeck on longer passages and towing it on a shorter ones. It does everything but store more nicely than an inflatable, but it would be really hard to fit one on a Ranger 23. I love sailing it around the marina and anchorages.
boats that I sail on regularly: Pearson 28-2, Rondar 505, Yankee 30, Blanchard Junior
