Re: Fasteners holding down the cockpit sole
I wanted simplicity and speed in removing the cockpit floor. I therefore epoxy/glassed in the nuts for each of the bolts (using LOTS of wax on the bolts so they would not get glued in). I then used round head socket head cap screws which take an allen wrench for tightening -- or loosening. To make things really sweet I then cut off the appropriate sized allen wrench which fits in my rechargable drill. Now, like a NASCAR pit crew, I zipp out the bolts and lift the cockpit sole in about one min. Very Nice. To keep the water out I removed all the original bedding compound and used a 2" wide strip of adhesive-backed neoprene. Under the bolts I used washers which have a neoprene layer. It is one of the better improvements I've made.
