I think my prop is set around 10 or 12 inches of pitch. I could be mistaken.

Hi Folks,

We just arrived in St. Maarten from Maine and agree with much of what was said above.

We had the unfortunately quirk of not getting trade winds until we were almost upon St. Maarten so motoring was a way of life for us.

Bottom line - we motored down much of the east coast at 2500 rpm and consumed .7 gal/h. We traveled the 900 miles from Bermuda to St. Martin at 1500 rpm and consumed .3 g/hr. This confirmed something Nigel Calder told me a few years ago that you can maximize your gallons/mile at lower rpm.
