Bimini for a 37

Would appreciate any photo's or comments , what you like or would have done differently on a Bimini for a 37.

Our dodger is pretty worn, so have been collecting ideas also... there is a local outfit in the IL/WI area that has a good reputation, Boat Tailors

We bought a replacement dodger and sail cover from Genco Marine and were very pleased with the quality, plus the CAN$ exchange rate made the goods relatively inexpensive. Check their photo album for ideas http://www.gencomarine.com/dodgers/album.cfm many also show biminis. They seem to make dodgers/biminis for many stock boats.

We will need to replace our bimini soon, will doubtlessly buy from Genco. You can see a picture with our bimini at the link below. The challenge with the bimini is to not restrict access to the deck more than nesessary, with a dodger up and the bimini hold-down straps lead forward , getting out of the cockpit becomes a bit of a gymnastic act - a prime design consideration for a new installation. You also need to keep the winches clear. One thing we would do differently for a new installation, would be to get a bimini wiht only one support, not two.

Lotsa ideas on that Genco site, thanks. But when you say you'll go with only one support next time, are you saying you'd eliminate the forward support and then connect the bimini to the dodger with a zipper or something?

I've been collecting pics of other PSC's and their bimini / dodger setups whilst surfing yachtworld and boats.com and have posted them in this sites Cruising Forum.

They're all pics that I think are in the public domain, so I don't think I'm gonna get anyone upset here, but I'm sure someone will correct me if I need to take them down.

A one support frame has three ribs (?) on the top that spread to support the bimini fabric, Our bimini has two support arms, both with double ribs...
