Old List is Gone

Hopefully everybody will find a place as I will sorely miss the dialog.

I don't think this is good, either. I liked the e-mail community rather than a forum. I have to check enough other forums...now just one more.

There are options we could poll for consensus. Google usenet groups, Yahoo groups or I could volunteer a plain old list server as we had.

not at all - you never even need to re-visit the forum after your first visit to find out what's going on - just click on "Thread Tools" at the top of the forum and click "Subscribe" - you can get instant emails, a daily or weekly digest of everything that's happening sent right to your in-box.

That's good. I didn't know I could subscribe to the list, but don't we have to return to the forum to respond?

Steve, Larry, et al,

We'll all miss the old e-mail list-serve. It was nice to have a quiet private conversation amongst fellow PSC owners without the larger boating public kibbitzing.

That said, I won't miss it as much as some of the rest of you, perhaps. For one thing, my e-mail provider has been blocking Sailnet list-serves for a number of years -- so I've had to come through the forum to view and respond to e-mail posts. Hasn't been convenient for me, and my participation on the list-serve declined as a result.

On the positive side, there's a lot of good info and knowledgeable sailors here on the general Sailnet forum. And the forum has more functionality (like photos and links, etc). So maybe view this change as an opportunity to broaden the horizons a bit, and exchange advice with other experienced sailors of other brands. We can still try to keep our PSC-related conversations here in this sub-forum. I look forward to more activity here now that the list-serve is defunct.

FWIW... I'm willing to give the 'forum' an opportunity.

I will say this, on my first entry I was hooked by the many options and capabilities presented. I'd hate to lose you guys and even though I typically have little to offer, hack sailor that I am, it certainly makes owning a boat just a little more enjoyable tuning in to the threads... even those dealing with boats I may never own and issues I may never have.

I certainly intend to stick around; we'll see how it goes.
