Alan:

Saw the rail. Very nice touch. That is the way to do it. I like the teak covering on the cockpit sides as well. Are the engine guages wired to the cockpit as well (tach, oil, temp, hour meter, etc)? Love the light blue / gray boot stripe. Are you willing to share what the options are that came with it? Anything new or different from before? Do you need to store it for winter now, or can you leave it in the water there in NC during the winter? Would love to see pictures once rigged.

I think the guages in the cockpit are pretty standard. As far as options, there were some already installed on this particular boat so I'm not sure what I've got that is different from a standard package.

The water's pretty warm over here in the winter, but on occasion can drop down. If your boat is out of the water you definitely want to take care and drain the water out of heads, etc.

I'm sure I'll be posting plenty of pictures. :-)

Hi Alan,
Congratulations on your new 37, she looks fantastic. You're not going to be able to sleep for a week, but that's a good thing. Now comes the hard part....... a name that fits such a beauty.
I'm looking forward to seeing more pics.

Thanks again!

Yes, it's kind of a dream come true. I was showing my fiance (yes, I got engaged this year too~ first time ) some literature I had written off and received from Pacific Seacraft over 25 years ago! I never threw it away. Then, I discovered two months ago that they had relocated to N.C. and that the new owner, Steve, grew up right up the road from me. Well, I took all this as a sign I guess. Anyway, I'm turning 50 in two weeks so this is going to be quite a year for me. My bride's name is Jenny. I was thinking... Jenny-Al (Genial) or perhaps, Jenny se quoais (sp). Don't really know yet.

Congrats Alan! (on everything)

It sounds crazy, but the first boat I had ever sailed was a PSC 37. It hooked me and I eventually bought my own PSC, an Orion. You'll love it. It's really an awesome boat, not too big and not too small.

Littlewing, my Orion has the teak capped cockpit coaming option. Granted mine is 25 years old and showing it

Congrats! She is a beauty. Will you be carrying windsurfing gear aboard?

LOL. You must've tracked me down from rec.windsurfing! (?)

Yes, packing a board or two, and some sails has been on my mind.... Probably the quarter berth. Any ideas? I hate leaving it out on the deck, but I guess I can while we're using it.

I'll be looking into it this spring, but we'll probably just leave the shortboards on the beach. How I wish I had kept a beginner (bullet-proof) longboard and a soft sail!.... Santa???

After 20 years of windsurfing, I'm really going to miss it when the white caps start up. Perhaps I'll be able to anchor, rig up and throw the whole thing over the side some time. It'll be tough de-rigging fer sure.

Heading back down to take another peek at the 37 again Friday. Will have some interior shots up soon.

Alan
