Propeller Generator

Has anyone tried harnessing the freewheeling propeller as an electrical generator on a PS37?

It's a little tight down there - but looks possible...

I would consider installing the same alternator that's on your engine, all
you need is to rig a pulley to the shaft. Because the shaft doesn't turn
as fast as your engine, I would make it as least 2-3x the diameter of the
pulley on the alternator. By using the same alternator, you have a built in
spare in case of failure.
Then the obvious question is, if you do this, can you remove the alternator
from the engine? Because the you'll have power either when motoring or
sailing!
