[QUOTE=svjobeth;716358]
I seem to recall that Vetus had a 'maintenance kit' available that included some sort of cleaning solution and spray paint for re-coating the cowls.
QUOTE]
William P.(Will) Heyer of Vetus told me to wipe the vinyl crowls down well with acetone to remove any free plasticizer from their surfaces (and perhaps any previous paint), then paint them with Kryon Fusion spray paint - red on the inside and white on the outside. I have twice done this with good results. Expect to use a quart of acetone and a lot of paper towels to get all the greasy stuff off. If you don't the paint will not dry, and you will have to start over again. Gloss looks better. I bought something duller by accident this year and it is not as attractive. You will also need masking tape, a few old newspapers, and a couple of strings to hang the crowls from a tree at the marina.
By the way, Vetus was great. They sent me some parts that I needed without my paying. I protested, demanding to pay. Will said, "Put $20 in a Salvation Army Kettle at Christmas, and we will call it even." I did; then put on a red apron and rang the bell for four hours.
