PSC 31 sheet/halyard/line lengths

One of my (many) projects this winter is to replace the running rigging on my new-to-me 31. I was hoping someone could help out with a list of the lengths of the various lines I'll need. I'll measure what lines I can, of course, but I'm missing the reefing lines, for example. My 31 has halyards, etc., led back to the cockpit.

Many thanks.

Steve:

Many thanks! You seem to have a far more complete owner's manual than I inherited.

Inner forestay diameter

Just FYI, I am having a staysail made, and the sailmaker wanted the size of the inner stay, so he could choose the correct hank size.

The data provided suggest that the inner stay is 7/16, but it measures as 1/4inch.

This small difference is inconsequential, but it does indicate that it is better to measure than to go by the published specs.

I know for instance, that my mast height is longer than the standard published dimensions. Why, I do not know.

I suspect 7/16 is a typo, as there is no wire on the 31 that is that heavy.

I am pretty sure mine was made by Charleston Spars. I haven't asked the sailmaker what he measured the dimensions to be; all I know is that the dealer had to eat the cost of the slightly larger sail.

Re: PSC 31 sheet/halyard/line lengths

Hi Al:

did you get to replacing the running rigging? That is on my list and something I CAN do myself, so the list OrientalNC2010 put up looks like a winner. did it work for you?

Thanks,

Elan

by the way, I'm finally out of the yard and in my slip in Eastport, does that count as a day on the water?
