Nice job! Another site to visit, another password to remember. Ha-ha!

Congrats on new boat, as well.

Message board

Hi Bob and thanks for your ideas.

I have a 1987 34, hull # 68.

Sharing of projects is a great idea as I have done a few to Lou Ann.

Hank

Hank... if you haven't put your project ideas online... I'm happy to set up a blog for you and your boat. Just send me a pm with the userid you want to use for the blog and the name you want for the blog and I'll set it up on the site.

For you or anyone else... the blog software is fairly easy to use... a lot like posting to this board or using word processing software.

Bob

Bob, that sounds good.

If I setup a blog, can I post to it by sending a picture and text via email? I've been playing with blogging a little bit on google to see how it works and that feature is very handy for snapping a picture with my cell phone and then emailing it to post on the blog.

So John... in theory yes. The blog software does support blogging via cell phone posts. I need to do some fiddling to see if it I can get it to work... would you be interested in using the blog w/o this feature though?

Probably not. Even with that feature I would probably stay with Google if I actually decided to do a blog. If I do it on Google, I also automatically get my pictures posted to Picasa. But I've only played with this just a little, so I don't know what I will do, if anything. To be honest, I don't think I have much to put on a blog. I've seen some fine examples of boaters blogs and I feel totally and completely out classed.

One other feature that I thought would be cool in a blog would be the ability to add it to my Spot messenger recipient list and than have if show my location on a map like the spot web site does. The problem with the spot web site is that they only keep your positions for 30 days max. That won't even allow me to track a summers cruise. I ramble...and I'm rambling.

Well John... for what it's worth the blogging system on the pacific seacraft owners website now supports email blogging too. Maybe someone else will find it useful!
