Value of Towable Genoa Cars on PSC37???

I have been reading 'Sailpower: Trim and Techniques for Cruising Sailors' by Peter Nielsen. One of the potential upgrades he mentions is towable genoa cars due to the likelihood of changing the headsail's sheet lead given this arrangement.

My question is, any experience with this modification to a PSC37 that anyone can share? Is this over-engineering? Does tuning the sheet lead position more frequently really get more from the headsail for the PSC37? Practical experience appreciated!

Not PSC related per se.. but I'm kinda split on this one.

On one hand, with people routinely furling headsails by rolling them up the convenience of being able to instantly and under load move the genoa lead to match the 'new' sail configuration is going to be smoother, avoid flogging the sail, avoid leech/foot flutter and likely extend its life.

OTOH if I'm cruising maybe the 30 seconds it takes to luff and adjust the car is no big deal, and the $$$$ could be better used somewhere else...

Seacurves, I don't know the PSC37 but on every boat I've been on, adjustable genoa cars make a difference. If "towable" means you can use a bungee cord and a hauling line to adjus tthem while under way...absolutely, it is a nice way to go. Although I find bungee cord punks out in the sun and is only reliable for one year.
