When I installed a new through hull for my AC circ pump I discovered my 1989 C34 had a cored hull. I am now contemplating installing an inside the hull transducer for my new plotter/sounder, but I an area with solid glass to do so. I can't imagine the entire hull being cored with balsa; does anyone know how they built the cored hulls? Thanks in advance.

The typical method was to spray Gelcoat in the mould followed by CSM sprayed in or a mat layup of a couple of layers. Then they laid up the core followed by more glass.
Thanks. I should have posed my question more accurately. Does anyone know if there are areas in a cored hull that are solid glass (perhaps by neccessity?).
I would call Thumper and ask. Sounds like something it might be wise to discuss with him.
