Short, tame video on 37

I somehow clipped the bottom part of my video, but if you're bored and want to see how flat The Tar River and parts of The Pamlico Sound are, even in 15-20 knots, here it is (please pardon the clutter...it was a very lazy Sunday yesterday :-) sail1 on Vimeo

At 30 knots it gets quite choppy, and especially if the wind comes up the river. Still, our PSC's can handle ANYTHING Pamlico dishes out.

Got to say the video looks fake. It looks like you took a picture of your boat on land and superimposed a water image under it then animated it but not quite enough.

Obviously I have no real reason to suspect your video.
Your right the water is amazingly flat.
Did you have a camera person or did you mount the camera somehow.

The steadiness is directly attributable to the 37's stability!

I just used one of the GoPro Hero cams and taped it to a broom stick. I should've done what a buddy of mine did: Sean wants to take you for a ride on a sailboat. on Vimeo

I'll work on it. By the way, these waterproof cameras are AWESOME for taping to a stick and holding under the water for quick hull and prop inspections.

Thanks. Yes, it was one of the best weekends ever. Never really saw anyone else out, but a lot of sailors are still reeling from Hurricane Irene. I even came upon a couple of logs floating. Spotted a limb of about 8-10 inches sticking straight up about 12 feet. Couldn't see the trunk it was attached to. Other than occasional floating limbs and hurricanes, the tributaries and Pamlico Sound are really a sailing paradise when it comes together.

There are days when Lake Michigan is both flat and has a nice wind, but maybe only a handful of times each season (at least on the weekends when I generally can sail). Nonetheless, our PSC 37 plows right thru the wave action in all but the more extreme conditions. A wonderfully stable sailboat.
