I do love my Pearson.
Besides getting a phenomenal deal and buying the boat from someone we knew well (and whose meticulous nature when it comes to his sailboats is known far and wide), we loved the classic look and sturdiness of her. Talk about a boat falling in your lap...we were starting to put the word out that we'd be looking for a boat toward the end of the season...something in the 30' - 32' range, comfortable for cruising but something that could handle a race if we really felt like it (DH still races our previous boat, an S2 7.9 that points like a dream). Well, not even 36 hours after speaking to one particular friend, she called us and informed us that we'd be buying a boat that afternoon. Next thing we know, we've bought a Pearson 35.
I wouldn't necessarily recommend buying a boat in that fashion, but like I said, we knew the seller well and we had absolute faith in the way he cares for his boats. And sometimes it's just meant to be.
