KEEL 34 Pearson

I need information about backing plates for fin keel on a 34 Pearson. I think they should be stainless steel, but when I bought this boat recently I found they were made of aluminum and they have deteriorated over the years and are causing me consern. Should I replace them with stainless steel or aluminim to act as an anode?

SailorMitch will become famous soon enough
What year is this 34? Seems odd that there would be an aluminum backing plate for the keel bolts. As far as I know, the standard if for the bolts to have SS washers -- not sure if a backing plate is buried in the layup for the keel stubb or not.
