P30- Any tips for replacing the impeller

I have a P30 and I should have replaced the impeller long ago. So far so good but I'm getting nervous. I have the Moyer Marine quick release housing to install becasue I realize it gonna be tough to replace that piece.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to remove the plate and get to the impeller? The access to it is tough. Any tricks?

Thanks.

Take a breath and dive in!

I access the back of the engine for long projects by removing the panel at the back of the quarterberth, back into the quarterberth feet first and put my feet way back into the transom. Then slide headfirst into the area between the gas tank and the engine on my belly. A throwable seat cushion makes it much more comfortable. (of course you remove the grate between the quarterberth and engine compartment for this)

I can also fit through the door under the sink if I put my shoulders in first but then my eyes are too close to the waterpump to be able to see it (eyes are getting old).

I've had zero sucess at working on the engine from the starboard cockpit seat.
