Would like advice on Pearson 27

Hi everyone. I am new here and I registered so that I could post a question. After many years of not sailing due to moving too much, getting married, and then having children, I am anxious to sail again. Recently an add for a Pearson 27 caught my eye and I would be interested in people's opinion of this model. Also, I plan to go and take a look at it, so if there are any common problem areas or things I should particularly be on the lookout for, I would appreciate the advice.

Thanks,
Rick

Rick -- I owned one for 14 years. No real vices on that boat, but do check for soggy core around some of the deck gear. Sails should have been replaced by now. It's a tough boat, can definitely take more than you can. Sails well, and is a down wind rocket. Wing keel depth of 3'2" is great. Send me your email address in a personal message and I can answer any specific questions you have. I also can send you a link to a P-27 website. I now own a P-33-2, so I am biased towards Pearsons!

Jack,

I think the aft stowage turned into the space where the holding tank is. Pearson never got around to changing the brochure. Unfortunately, the email list serve is still done. Our "webmaster" isn't being too responsive right now but another guy and I will bug him again next week. You're reminding me that I owe rickgrob an email!
