pearson 28 vs pearson 31

I currently have a Pearson 28 from 1978 which I love , but I have been thinking of moving up to a larger boat. A 1978 Pearson 31 is for sale for 8000
dollars and needs some work, sails etc, but wondered if anyone could tell me the difference in sailing characteristics between the two boats. I love that my current Pearson 28 feels so solid and steady regardless of the winds and wondered if that was also true in the 31.

The P31 is a nice sailing boat, I think you'll find it just as pleasing as a P28. That is a shockingly low price, be sure you figure out what you are buying...the second generation of Pearsons have had some wet deck (and hull) conditions...although I am a little uncertain whether the P31 should be considered second generation...yes, if it has a cored hull.
