Sailing against the grain!

Does anyone know where I can get information on sailing north from Baja to Puget Sound. I did it once as a kid 40 years ago but the memories are faded.
I am considering buying a boat in mexico and sailing it back.....
Any comments?????

One of, if not the NASTIEST delivery trip anywhere. Good luck with that. Very limited weather window and it's a bash all of the way.

I've read Capt. Vancouver's logs on this passage, and it's no wonder the man was prone to depression. Drake's comments, by contrast, indicate that he had an extremely rare episode of decent sailing.

Everything I've read indicates the trip from Baja to Puget Sound indicates that it can be a rough trip unless you take the proper routing, that is via Hawaii!

There is a California to Baja race. One of those guys should be able to give specifics of the return trip. Having boated on the Pacific coast, (Oregon). Going well off of the coast and coming back in at an angle sounds like a plan.

Nothing wrong with going to Hawaii. A nice place to stop and relax and observe the untique clothing of humans along the beaches.

I have single-handed Baja to S.F., and it's a tough sail, motor, motorsail. You can get offshore several hundred miles, and it is easier. You, and the boat will take a beating, so both need to be in top form, and knowing how to hove-to will get you some rest without going in..........i2f
