Please, sck5, don't offer us advice on how to pick our candidates. As I recall, you guys haven't done so well lately. First you nominated the brilliant, but not particularly effervescent Al Gore, who was such a poor choice that he couldn't even beat someone as "stupid" as George Bush, and then you nominated your imitation war hero, also known as "Mr. Personality," which culminated in George Bush being a two-term President. Now, you've narrowed your choices down to the wife of your last President, who has more negatives going for her than Idi Amin, and a clod who refuses to place his hand over his heart in the presence of the American flag. Hell, even Dennis Kucinich, the widely recognized nut-case of your party, has the common sense to place his hand over his heart!

Thanks for your interest, but let us make our own choice.

See Sailormon, you take it too seriously - primarily because YOU don't get to make a choice, which was the point of my tcomment that sck was referring to..

Well, its motivational poster day, thanks to an email from my brother. This one seems to fit the bill for Obama and his hollow rhetoric.

Only Breckinridge, Nixon and our buddy Al have failed to get elected president after having been VP, Nixon fixed his failure 8 years later.
Gore has the dis-stink-ion of being the only VP to have served 8 years not get elected as President.

Significantly enough, only 4 VP's have been elected as presidents, Adams, Jefferson, Van Buren and a longggggg dry spell to Bush.

Gore stands right up there in the history books as a failure thank god he has that wonderful Nobel (non-scientic category) on his mantel - without it he'd only be a large air-bag - albeit with nice hair.
He is also one of the few candidates that are taller than the one who beat him (see earlier post on how height is a valid statistic for pre-choosing who will win).

An additional FWIW - following up on the factoid that taller candidates for president win some 80+ % of the time -

and sequeing to why Hillary can't win:

only 1 mustached candidate has beaten a clean shaven candidate (in 1908), whereas 3 times a clean shaven candidate has beaten a mustached one.

and we all know which of the 4 top contenders has the mustache now don't we?
So, since she's shorter - 18% to win
Mustache factor - 25% chance to win
Combine the two together and she's still a short dumpy candidate with a mustache.

Far be it from me to beat a dead horse, chuckles, but while you're checking statistics, tell us how many people have been elected President who refused to salute the flag. (Sorry sck5, but sometimes when there's an open door, you just have to walk through it. )
